MINIATURE BOOK about Alzheimer's disease

To the memory of oblivion

Alzheimer's
Artist Book tells the story about coping with Alzheimer's disease from the perspective of a granddaughter. Very personal and delicate.
I made this project to hack with all emotions that I've felt due to my Grandma's last years.
The story is presented on 44 pages in tiny format - 55 x 70 mm. The miniature form establishes the fragility of all elderly people especially those suffering from Alzheimer's.
The book is closed in a soft cardboard cover and wrapped by crochet rope.
Navy blue color was chosen not to impart the miserable character to the whole artbook. Crochet rope was a reference to my Grandma who used to crochet a lot. Btw the table napkin from photos was also made by her.
All illustrations in the book were drawn by ink on paper. I made them from my memories of objects that were part of my Grandma's everyday life. Portraits of her were also drawn from memory.
Each of these drawings has a backstory, but I believe everybody finds something personal in the book.
In the book, I used personal font created in the app Calligraphr which was great fun too!
Below you can find the video with a whole book with the translation of each page.
The book is in open edition and was send to some polish fundations conected to the topic.
PS The sad story behind the book is the fact, that the morning after I finished the book my Grandma Stasia passed away.
